LISTING STANDARDS & CONTENT POLICY

1. Purpose

This Listing Standards & Content Policy establishes the requirements, standards, restrictions, and responsibilities applicable to all content published, displayed, advertised, promoted, uploaded, shared, or distributed through the One Asset Market (“OAM”, “Platform”, “we”, “our”, or “us”).

The purpose of this Policy is to maintain a professional, trustworthy, commercially credible, family-friendly, and legally compliant marketplace environment.

All users, sellers, service providers, advertisers, hosted platform participants, and content contributors must comply with this Policy.


2. Scope

This Policy applies to all content appearing on OAM, including but not limited to:

  • Product listings.
  • Service listings.
  • Business profiles.
  • Advertisements.
  • Sponsored content.
  • Images.
  • Videos.
  • Logos.
  • Product descriptions.
  • Service descriptions.
  • Documents.
  • Reviews.
  • Comments.
  • Promotional material.
  • Hosted platform content.
  • User-generated content.
  • Future content formats introduced by OAM.

3. General Content Principles

All content published on OAM must be:

  • Lawful.
  • Accurate.
  • Truthful.
  • Professional.
  • Respectful.
  • Commercially legitimate.
  • Relevant to the intended purpose of the Platform.

Content must contribute positively to the user experience and marketplace integrity.

OAM reserves the right to determine whether content meets these standards.


4. Content Ownership and Responsibility

Users remain solely responsible for all content submitted to the Platform.

By publishing content on OAM, users warrant that:

  • They own the content; or
  • They possess the necessary permissions, licences, and rights to use the content.

Users accept full responsibility for the legality, accuracy, and use of their content.


5. Listing Quality Standards

All listings should:

  • Be complete and accurate.
  • Clearly identify the product or service being offered.
  • Include relevant specifications where appropriate.
  • Use professional language.
  • Include representative images.
  • Contain current information.
  • Provide realistic pricing information where applicable.
  • Enable informed decision-making by users.

OAM may reject or remove listings that fail to meet acceptable quality standards.


6. Image and Media Standards

Images and media must:

  • Accurately represent the product or service.
  • Be clear and of reasonable quality.
  • Be relevant to the listing.
  • Not contain misleading visual information.
  • Not contain offensive content.
  • Not infringe intellectual property rights.

OAM may remove images that are misleading, poor quality, irrelevant, deceptive, inappropriate, or damaging to the Platform’s reputation.


7. Accuracy of Information

Users must ensure that all content:

  • Is accurate.
  • Is truthful.
  • Is current.
  • Is not misleading.
  • Does not omit material information likely to influence user decisions.

False, deceptive, exaggerated, or unverifiable claims are prohibited.


8. Prohibited Content

The following content is strictly prohibited:

Illegal Content

  • Content promoting illegal activities.
  • Unlawful products or services.
  • Criminal conduct.
  • Fraudulent schemes.

Adult Content

  • Pornographic material.
  • Sexually explicit content.
  • Adult entertainment content.
  • Content inappropriate for minors.

Offensive Content

  • Hate speech.
  • Harassment.
  • Bullying.
  • Threats.
  • Intimidation.
  • Discriminatory content.
  • Abusive language.

Violent Content

  • Graphic violence.
  • Disturbing imagery.
  • Content promoting violence.

Fraudulent Content

  • False advertisements.
  • Misleading pricing.
  • Fake reviews.
  • Impersonation.
  • Misrepresentation.

Intellectual Property Violations

  • Copyright infringements.
  • Trademark infringements.
  • Unauthorised use of third-party content.

Malicious Content

  • Viruses.
  • Malware.
  • Harmful code.
  • Phishing attempts.
  • Fraudulent links.

Platform Abuse

  • Spam.
  • Repetitive content.
  • Artificial traffic generation.
  • Manipulation of rankings.
  • Manipulation of reviews.
  • Automated abuse of Platform systems.

9. Family-Friendly Platform Standards

OAM operates as a professional and family-friendly marketplace.

Content that may reasonably be considered inappropriate for general audiences may be rejected, restricted, removed, or prohibited.

OAM reserves the right to maintain standards that support:

  • Professional conduct.
  • Responsible commerce.
  • Respectful communication.
  • Appropriate public presentation.

The decision of OAM regarding suitability of content shall be final.


10. Professional Presentation Standards

Users are expected to present products, services, businesses, and advertisements professionally.

OAM may reject or remove content that:

  • Appears careless or misleading.
  • Is poorly presented.
  • Contains excessive errors.
  • Creates a poor user experience.
  • Damages marketplace credibility.
  • Reflects negatively on the Platform.

Participation on OAM is intended for serious commercial activity.


11. Intellectual Property Protection

Users may not upload, publish, or distribute content that infringes:

  • Copyright.
  • Trademarks.
  • Patents.
  • Design rights.
  • Trade secrets.
  • Proprietary information.

OAM reserves the right to immediately remove allegedly infringing content while investigations are conducted.


12. Hosted Platform Content

Businesses operating hosted platforms within the OAM ecosystem remain responsible for all content appearing on their platforms.

OAM reserves the right to review, investigate, restrict, suspend, or remove hosted platform content where necessary to protect:

  • Platform users.
  • OAM’s reputation.
  • Legal compliance.
  • Marketplace integrity.

13. Monitoring and Enforcement

OAM may, but is not obligated to:

  • Review content.
  • Monitor listings.
  • Investigate complaints.
  • Verify information.
  • Request supporting documentation.
  • Conduct audits of content and listings.

Users acknowledge that OAM may take enforcement action where concerns arise.


14. Corrective Actions

Where content violates this Policy, OAM may:

  • Request corrections.
  • Require additional information.
  • Restrict visibility.
  • Suspend listings.
  • Remove content.
  • Suspend accounts.
  • Terminate participation.

Corrective action may be taken with or without prior notice.


15. Platform Discretion

OAM reserves absolute discretion in determining:

  • Whether content complies with Platform standards.
  • Whether content is appropriate for publication.
  • Whether content may remain on the Platform.
  • Whether participation should continue.

OAM’s decisions relating to marketplace quality, content standards, user experience, safety, reputation, and commercial integrity shall be final.


16. Indemnity

Users agree to indemnify and hold harmless OAM, its directors, employees, affiliates, partners, contractors, and representatives against any claim, liability, damage, loss, cost, or expense arising from:

  • Content submitted by the user.
  • Intellectual property disputes.
  • Regulatory violations.
  • Misrepresentation.
  • Breach of this Policy.

17. Amendments

OAM reserves the right to amend this Policy at any time.

Updated versions become effective upon publication on the Platform.

Continued use of the Platform constitutes acceptance of such amendments.


18. Governing Law

This Policy shall be governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa.

Any disputes arising from this Policy shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the competent courts of South Africa.


19. Acceptance

By publishing, uploading, submitting, advertising, promoting, listing, sharing, or otherwise making content available through OAM, users acknowledge that they have read, understood, and agreed to comply with this Listing Standards & Content Policy.
